Some clubs take years to become event venues. Padel 365 Richmond Park did it in about twelve months. It opened in Milnerton in 2025, hosted a 42-hour padel marathon that October, and in October 2026 it co-hosted the first Growthpoint SA National Padel Championships with its sister club in Century City.

Now it has joined the Bear Digital Cup Series as the league’s 11th club. Here is our guide to the venue: the courts, the events, the food, the socials, a few tips for squash players making the switch, and what a league matchday there will look like.

Quick answer

Padel 365 Richmond Park is an indoor padel club on Richmond Northern Close in the Richmond Park development, Milnerton, with easy access to the N7. It has five indoor padel courts with Capture streaming and replay on every one, plus pickleball, a restaurant with a pizza oven, a café, a snack bar and a pro shop. Courts are booked on Playtomic, the club is open 6am–11pm on weekdays and 6am–10pm on weekends, and it is the home venue of Padel 365 – Richmond Park, the Cup Series’ 11th club.

Where it is and how to get there

The club is on Richmond Northern Close in the Richmond Park development in Milnerton. The N7 is close by, which makes it an easy trip from the northern suburbs, the West Coast and Century City alike, and parking is free and private, which you will appreciate on a busy Saturday.

Inside, it is big and bright. The five padel courts sit under one roof, with reception, the pro shop, the restaurant and courtside tables around them. Every court is indoors, so the south-easter and the winter rain do not get a vote.

The courts

Two of the five padel courts carry headline names: the Growthpoint Properties Match Court and the Santam Championship Court. Between them sit Stitch Court 2, Padel 3 and Padel 4. All five have Capture streaming and replay, so every match can be watched back.

All five padel courts have Capture streaming and replay. Pickleball is booked on Playtomic alongside padel.
Court Worth knowing
Growthpoint Properties Match Court The match court
Stitch Court 2 Indoor, with Capture streaming and replay
Padel 3 Indoor, with Capture streaming and replay
Padel 4 Indoor, with Capture streaming and replay
Santam Championship Court The championship court
Use the replay after every league match
Win or lose, watch three things back: where you and your partner stood when the other pair attacked, whether your lobs were deep enough to take the net, and how you played the golden points and the 10-point tiebreak. Those are the moments that decide Cup Series matches.

A venue built for big days

Richmond Park’s events record is what makes it stand out, even in a city full of good clubs.

Cup Series
Padel 365 – Richmond Park starts its first Summer League season as the league’s 11th club.

Why does that matter for a club league? A Cup Series fixture is six matches on one Saturday afternoon, with two squads, their captains and their supporters arriving together. A venue that has run a 42-hour marathon and a weekend of national championship padel will take that in its stride.

From squash to padel: what carries over

Padel 365 is co-owned by Paul Atkinson, a former top-five South African squash player, which feels fitting: squash players are some of the quickest converts to padel. If you are one of them, here is what carries over, and what to unlearn.

Carries over
Reading the walls
You already know how a ball comes off glass and into the corners. In padel that instinct is gold, especially when you let a ball pass you and play it after it comes off the back wall.
Carries over
Movement and touch
Quick feet, early preparation and soft hands all transfer. Short balls that die near the side glass will feel natural.
Unlearn
The big swing
Padel rackets have no strings and the court is smaller. Short, compact swings give you control. A full squash swing tends to send the ball into the back glass, where it sits up for your opponents.
Unlearn
Playing their walls
In padel the ball must bounce in your opponents’ court before it touches their glass, and a ball that comes off their back wall gives them a second chance. Aim for the floor, not the glass.
New habit
Thinking in pairs
Padel is always doubles. Move as a pair, keep an even gap between you and your partner, and call every ball that comes down the middle.
New skill
The lob and the net
Most padel points are won at the net, and the lob is how you get there. A high, deep lob pushes your opponents back and lets you and your partner move forward together.

Pickleball: the other game in the building

Richmond Park is one of the few clubs in the league where you can also book pickleball, on Playtomic alongside the padel courts. It is played with solid paddles and a perforated plastic ball on a smaller court with no walls, and it is an easy game to pick up. It is a handy option for a mixed group where not everyone plays padel yet, or as a change of pace on a rest day.

There is a restaurant, a café and a snack bar, and the restaurant has a pizza oven, which tends to settle where the post-match debrief happens. The pro shop is at reception, and rental rackets are available if you are new to the game or have left yours at home.

The courtside tables make it easy to watch the next match with a drink in hand, which is exactly what you want on a Cup Series Saturday with six matches on the go.

Wednesday

Each club names two to four players per division by 31 December 2026, chosen through open trials or the club’s own selection. Players do not need to be members of the club, but each player can only represent one club. Richmond Park in the Cup Series

Padel 365 – Richmond Park is the league’s 11th club. It took one of the places that opened when the league grew from 10 to 20 clubs due to demand, and it enters squads in all six divisions. It plays its home fixtures here and competes for the same R180,000 prize pool, and the same route to Finals Weekend, as every other club.

All six matches of a home fixture are played at the home venue, and with five courts Richmond Park has room to play most of a fixture at the same time, so home Saturdays should be busy, compact and loud.

Two derbies could come to Milnerton if the draw allows: the Padel 365 derby against Century City, and the Koeberg corridor rivalry with Aura. We cover both in our guide to the derbies to watch, and the club’s neighbours in our guide to padel in the northern suburbs and West Coast.
