Century City already had offices, shops, canals and the Intaka Island nature reserve. Late in 2025 it got something else: five indoor padel courts on Slipstream Way. In January 2026 the precinct welcomed Padel 365 Century City as the newest part of its sports offering, and within months the club was co-hosting national championship padel.

Now it is a Cup Series Founder Club, the tenth and last to enter. Here is everything you need to know about the venue, from the courts and the replays to the food, the play park and what a league matchday there will look like.

Quick answer

Padel 365 Century City is an indoor padel club on Slipstream Way, Century City, with five courts, Capture streaming and replay on every court and extra run-out space on Courts 2 and 4. It has a restaurant, café and snack bar, a pro shop and an outdoor play park, books on Playtomic and is open 6am–11pm on weekdays and 6am–10pm on weekends. It is the home venue of Padel 365 – Century City, a Cup Series Founder Club.

Getting there and first impressions

The club is on Slipstream Way in Century City, the 250-hectare mixed-use precinct north of the city centre. Parking is free and private, which matters on a busy Saturday, and you will spot the outdoor play park and picnic benches before you reach the door.

Inside, the five courts sit under one roof, with the restaurant, café and pro shop alongside. It is a big, open space, and because it is fully indoors the conditions are the same in February heat or a June cold front: no wind, no rain and no sun in your eyes on a lob.

The courts, one by one

Every court at Century City carries a sponsor’s name. Two of them have extra run-out space outside the glass, and one is the championship court.

All five courts have Capture streaming and replay.
Court Name Worth knowing
1 Asics Standard indoor court with Capture streaming and replay
2 Absa Run-out space outside the glass
3 Growthpoint The championship court
4 Pokerbet Run-out space outside the glass
5 Cox Energy Standard indoor court with Capture streaming and replay

Run-outs explained, and how to use them

In padel, a ball that bounces in your opponents’ half and then leaves the court is not automatically dead. If there is space outside the court, the defending player can follow it out and play it back. On Courts 2 and 4 at Century City there is extra room to do exactly that.

That changes the tactics, for both sides:

When you attack
Power is not always a winner
On a run-out court, a big smash that leaves the court can come back. Against quick defenders, a well-placed bandeja or vibora into the side glass is often more reliable than trying to hit the ball out.
When you defend
Move early and talk
Know where the openings are before the point starts. As soon as a smash is coming, decide who chases, call it, and get moving. A late start is the difference between a great retrieve and a lost point.
Before you play
Walk the space
In the warm-up, have a look at the run-out area: how much room there is, and where the edges are. Chasing a ball at full speed is not the moment to find out.

Capture replays: how to use them to get better

Every court at Century City has Capture streaming and replay, which means you can watch your points back after you play. Most players watch their best shots and stop there. Used properly, replays are one of the fastest ways to improve. Here is a simple routine:

  • ✓Watch your positioning, not just your shots. Pause on a few points and check how far you and your partner are from the net and from each other.
  • ✓Check your lobs. Were they high and deep enough to push your opponents back, or did they sit up for a smash?
  • ✓Study the transitions. Look at the moment you move from the back of the court to the net. Did you go together?
  • ✓Review the pressure points. Golden points and the 10-point tiebreak decide Cup Series matches. Watch how you played them.
  • ✓Share it. Send a clip to your partner, captain or coach. Ten minutes of honest review beats an hour of guessing.

Food, family and the pro shop

There is a restaurant, a café and a snack bar, so a morning game can easily turn into breakfast and a Saturday fixture into a long lunch. The pro shop is well stocked, and rental equipment is available if you are trying padel for the first time or have left your racket at home.

For families, the outdoor play park with picnic benches is a real bonus: one parent plays, the kids play, everyone is happy. Changing rooms, lockers and Wi-Fi round it off.

How to book

Courts are booked on Playtomic. One thing to know: the club’s Playtomic web address still ends in “padel-365-durbanville”, but it is the Century City club, so do not let that throw you. The club also runs organised social sessions and informal competition through the week, bookable on Playtomic, alongside the Padel 365 group’s tournaments and events.

The Nationals connection

In October 2026, Century City and its sister club in Richmond Park co-hosted the first Growthpoint SA National Padel Championships, with age-group and open divisions played over two weekends. Court 3, the Growthpoint court, is the club’s championship court. Few venues in the league have hosted padel at that level, and it shows in how the club runs a busy day.

Century City in the Cup Series

Padel 365 – Century City is the 10th and final Cape Town Founder Club, and it enters squads in all six divisions of the 2027 Summer League. All six matches of a home fixture are played at the venue, and a home venue can run as many matches at once as it has courts, so with five courts Century City can play almost the whole fixture side by side.

If the draw is kind, two derbies could come to Slipstream Way: the Padel 365 derby against Richmond Park, and the Koeberg corridor rivalry with Aura. Read about both in our guide to the derbies to watch.
