The courts
Epicentre has five indoor courts: four doubles courts and a singles court. The doubles courts carry sponsors’ names, among them Bonitas and Naked Insurance. With every court under one roof, play goes ahead whatever Cape Town’s wind and rain are doing. Courts are booked on Playtomic, where the venue is listed as EPICENTRE Virgin Active Padel Club – Indoor.
At the club
There’s a fully stocked pro shop where you can buy or rent rackets, balls and bags, a restaurant and bar, change rooms with showers and lockers, free Wi-Fi and free private parking.
When it began
Epic Padel opened the Epicentre in 2022 at The Island business park in Paarden Eiland, close to the harbour and about ten minutes from the CBD. It was Epic Padel’s fourth club and South Africa’s first multi-court indoor padel centre. In 2023, Epic Padel partnered with Virgin Active, and its clubs, the Epicentre among them, became Virgin Active Padel Clubs, open to Virgin Active members and non-members alike.
In the Bear Digital Cup Series
Virgin Active Padel Club – Epicentre plays its home fixtures here as a Founder Club in the 2027 Cape Town Summer League, entering all six divisions. The season starts on 6 February 2027, with fixtures on Saturday afternoons. It’s the second Virgin Active Padel Club in the league, alongside Virgin Active Padel Club – Lourensford in Somerset West.
