PadelX is a world-class indoor padel club at Somerset Crossing in Somerset West. It has four panoramic courts under one roof, a café, a pro shop and a wall of glowing hexagon lights that gives the place its look. Because it’s indoors, the Helderberg wind and winter rain don’t cancel your game. It’s one of the first four clubs to enter the Bear Digital Cup Series, and one of the home clubs Cup Series teams can choose at registration.

The courts
All four courts are Drop Shot panoramic courts, with a high-strength steel frame, 12 mm tempered glass, high-density texturised turf and LED floodlighting. PadelX also supplies Drop Shot courts, so the courts you play on are the same ones it sells and installs for homes and clubs.
More than a club
Besides Somerset West, PadelX runs a two-court club in Stellenbosch, at Devonbosch on Bottelary Road. It also has an online store with rackets and gear from Adidas, Babolat, Bullpadel, HEAD and Nox. The club gives back too: in October 2026 it hosts Padel 4 a Cause, a tournament in aid of Helderberg Hospice.
Off the court
The café serves coffee, snacks and drinks, and the pro shop stocks the latest gear from the top brands, with rental equipment if you haven’t got your own yet. There’s free and private parking, changing rooms, Wi-Fi, disabled access and a play park for kids.
Coaching & social play
Private coaching is available with the club’s coaches, Lauren, Tiaan and Brendan, for players of every level. Social tournaments such as Fireball Friday are bookable on Playtomic, and PadelX hosts corporate team-building events and kids’ birthday parties.

What does a court cost?
Prices are per court and depend on the time. In September 2026 Playtomic showed R400 an hour during the day and R600 an hour in the evening.
Is there a way to save on bookings?
Yes. A Playtomic wallet top-up gives you R1,000 to spend for R850.
Are the courts indoor?
Yes. All four courts are indoors, so the weather doesn’t stop play.
Can I rent a racket?
Yes. Equipment rental is available, and the pro shop sells rackets, bags and accessories.
Do you offer coaching?
Yes. You can book private coaching with Lauren, Tiaan or Brendan through the PadelX website.
Can I host a party or corporate event?
Yes. PadelX hosts kids’ birthday parties and corporate team-building events. Apply through its website.
