The courts
Nine of the ten courts are indoors, and they’re climate-controlled, so heat, wind and rain don’t decide your game. Indoor Courts 8, 9 and 10 have run-outs of three metres or more for chasing the ball outside the glass, and the outdoor court gives you the option of playing in the open air. Every court is a panoramic doubles court, and they’re floodlit for late games.
When it began
Arturf started as a vision to bring something new to Cape Town, and its founders picked Paarden Eiland for its raw, industrial feel. The group also runs Arturf Villagers, a six-court outdoor padel academy at the historic Villagers grounds in Claremont, and the Arturf 5v5 football arena in Goodwood. In December 2026 Paarden Eiland hosts the first FIP Promises Continental Finals Africa, where the continent’s best juniors, from under-12 to under-18, compete in Cape Town. The FIP calls Arturf the largest facility dedicated to padel in the country.
Off the court
Court & Coffee Co. runs the café. There’s a pro shop, private showers with lockers, dressing tables and hairdryers, and a “Chill Zone” lounge under a Bedouin stretch tent. Upstairs, a mezzanine co-working space has a private boardroom, phone booths and salaah facilities, so you can work between games. Parking is free and secure, with CCTV and a visible security presence.
Coaching & social play
The Arturf Padel Academy runs five pathways: Beginner, Club, Competitive, Junior Academy and Elite Performance. All sessions are booked through Playtomic. The weekly calendar includes a Saturday Breakfast Club, a Sunday Novice Americano for newer players, a Wednesday Ladies’ Evening Americano and the Friday Summit Series League. The arena also hosts corporate team-building days, birthdays and private Americanos, with catering.
